Program and Position Overview

 

William Campbell Foundation (WCF) is a not for profit Christian organisation that provides a range of services, including permanency support programs for children and young people. Additionally, WCF delivers therapeutic services to children, young people, individuals and families.

 

WCF is committed to child safe practices and permanency outcomes for children and young people in care to provide a positive, safe and healing experience that addresses trauma, attachment, self-regulation, culture and community needs.

 

Our Clinical Services program is responsible for ensuring the provision of supports and everyday practice are in line with the ARC therapeutic framework, supporting other program areas in the implementation of this framework through overseeing systems and processes in the WCF Clinical Services Program in a manner that supports transparency and accountability.

 

The Clinical Services Team Leader provides supervision and support to a team of clinical staff in providing therapeutic services to children and young people through expert clinical interventions, and building the capacity of staff who work directly with children and young people and collaborating with departmental staff and external stakeholders.

Key Position Responsibilities 

  • You will have a minimum Degree in Psychology or Community Services related field, comprehensive management experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in working with children, young people and families.

  • You must be a team player who is self-motivated and possesses an outstanding level of professionalism.

  • You must be a calm and confident communicator with the ability to adapt the provision of information to a wide audience, including a level of confidence with public speaking.

  • You will be a highly motivated individual, able to work at an exciting pace.

  • You will possess a high level of attention to detail with superior skills in time management and organisation, and a proactive approach to self-development and growth.

  • You will be keen to build and nurture networks and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • You will be a strong, committed and collaborative leader who is courageous and assertive when making decisions and problem solving.

  • You will consistently promote and develop positive culture, advocating WCF’s Vision and Values and support staff in doing the same.

  • You will engage high level critical thinking to formulate effective responses and to drive policy and procedural development.

  • Complete and detailed response to the Selection Criteria below, informing WCF on how you are able to demonstrate your ability to meet the required criteria

Selection Criteria

  1. Degree in Psychology or Community Services related field, comprehensive management experience and a minimum of 5 years relevant employment working with children, young people, families and individuals

  2. Working knowledge of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2012.

  3. Experience working in a clinical setting, with particular knowledge in relation to best practice therapeutic care for children and young people in OOHC.

  4. Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, preferably with the ability to supervise Provisional Psychologists.  

  5. An understanding and willingness to work within the ARC Therapeutic Framework, to support the needs of children and young people and their caregivers.

  6. Sound knowledge of restricted practices processes, clinical assessment, complex case review, and report writing.

  7. Demonstrated ability to participate in the development and delivery of staff and carer training.

  8. Demonstrated ability to seek continuous improvement in process, policy and systems.

  9. Demonstrated ability and confidence to make high-level decisions and facilitate collaborative panels, using experience, negotiation skills, research and knowledge.

  10. Demonstrated experience in meeting Key Performance Indicators, overseeing record keeping and reporting requirements in the clinical program, ensuring accuracy and relevancy at all times.

  11. Demonstrated ability to role model and promote a positive culture in line with WCF’s vision and values.

  13. Confirmation that you:

    1. Hold a current and cleared Working with Children Check

    2. Can provide a National Police Check (obtained within the past 12 months).

    3. Can provide a Current Drivers Licence and have a comprehensively insured vehicle.

    4. Have access to two referees from current or previous Managers.

    5. Will provide copies of Transcripts and Certificates detailing qualifications.

    6. Will disclose during interview any information that could impair performance in this position, which should be considered by the panel when assessing applicants.
