Program and Position Overview
William Campbell Foundation (WCF) is a not for profit Christian organisation that provides a range of services, including permanency support programs for children and young people. Additionally, WCF delivers therapeutic services to children, young people, individuals and families.
WCF is committed to child safe practices and permanency outcomes for children and young people in care to provide a positive, safe and healing experience that addresses trauma, attachment, self-regulation, culture and community needs.

William Campbell Foundations (WCF) Community Support Worker position is designed to provide quality, safe and consistent services to the people supported by both WCF and Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
Through our Family Support Service, WCF provide supervision of family time, transport, mentoring and family preservation.

Key Requirements
​

Providing quality and safe services including the supervision of family contacts, ensuring a trauma informed, culturally sensitive approach to the needs of children, young people and their families.

Providing safe transport of children and young people, which may include to and from appointments, school, birth family contact or other.

Positive role modelling and mentoring for children and young people, ensuring consistent, appropriate and positive activities designed to build resilience and relationships.

Assisting in the preservation of families where there is a risk of children and young people coming into care, however there are identified strengths to prevent this happening. This may include assisting with appointments, routines and therapeutic behaviour support.

Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of child development, including knowledge of the context and impact of issues arising from children and young people being removed from their family and significant others.

Providing educational support for children during periods of suspension or inability to attend formal education.

Working with children and young people to mentor and support growth in areas including social and independent living skills.

Providing support to care placements during times of increased instability, with focus on meeting both the child and carers needs.
