Program and Position Overview

 

William Campbell Foundation (WCF) is a not for profit Christian organisation that provides a range of services, including permanency support programs for children and young people. Additionally, WCF delivers therapeutic services to children, young people, individuals and families.

 

WCF is committed to child safe practices and permanency outcomes for children and young people in care to provide a positive, safe and healing experience that addresses trauma, attachment, self-regulation, culture and community needs.

Our Permanency Support Program investigates and fosters the implementation of quality permanency placement options for children and young people, including adoption, restoration and guardianship.  The positions of Permanency Support Program Regional Manager holds the responsibility of supervising and supporting a multidisciplinary team in implementing quality services to children and young people in ways consistent with the vision and values of William Campbell Foundation.

 

The ultimate aim of the Permanency Support Program is to achieve permanency, change, safety and protection for Children and Young People that improves cultural, social, emotional, health and educational outcomes.

Key Position Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the provision of services in a multidisciplinary Permanency Support Program in a manner that promotes transparency and accountability to all external stakeholders.

  • Work within the agency’s Executive Management Team to provide strategic and operational leadership, through setting goals, developing strategy and ensuring effective execution of strategic planning.

  • Hold responsibility for the quality assurance of the Permanency Support Program and its delivery of services to WCF clients.

  • Oversee the management of all records relating to the Permanency Support Program, ensuring accuracy, relevancy and currency.

  • Implement new systems in line with service standards, ensuring all programs within jurisdiction are working to the same structures.

  • Develop, maintain and support a positive work culture in line with WCF’s vision and values and role model this appropriately to other employees, volunteers and students.  

  • Assist in the recruitment and management of a highly skilled and robust Permanency Support Program team.

  • Work closely with the CEO to provide critical information regarding the Permanency Support Program, welcoming the CEO’s supervision and support where necessary.

  • Identify potential opportunities for agency growth, best practice systems and current or emerging trends.

  • Facilitate and develop positive working relationships with stakeholders, including children, young people, families, guardians, as well as government and non-government agencies.

  • Develop, maintain and disseminate service information to relevant stakeholders.

  • Seek out community engagement opportunities to increase inclusive practices to benefit our staff and client base.

To be eligible for this role:

  • You will have a minimum Bachelor Level Qualification in a relevant field and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in working with children, young people and families. 

  • You will have a Minimum of 5 years of Senior Management Experience.

  • You will have management experience and a continual desire to learn new approaches in supporting and building a responsive, high performing and productive multidisciplinary team.   

  • You must be a calm and confident communicator with the ability to adapt the provision of information to a wide audience, which includes the ability to present training and information to team, children and young people, families and individuals.   

  • You will be a highly motivated individual, able to work at an exciting pace, while maintaining a consistently professional approach.

  • You will possess a high level of attention to detail with exceptional skills in time management and organisation, and a proactive approach to self-development, reflective practice and growth.

  • You will be keen to build and nurture networks and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • You will be a strong, committed and collaborative leader who is courageous and assertive when making decisions and problem solving.

Selection Criteria

Examples should be provided where available. 

  1. Minimum Bachelor Degree in relevant field and four years’ experience in working with children, young people and/or families together with demonstrated Senior Management experience.

  2. Working knowledge of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardians Child Safe Standards for Permanent Care.

  3. An understanding and willingness to work within the ARC Therapeutic Framework, to support the needs of children, young people and their caregivers.

  4. Demonstrated experience and ability to work through conflict and crisis and to provide expert advice confidently to staff in managing difficult or complex situations.

  5. Demonstrated adaptable and high-level communication skills, including both verbal and written communication (must detail capacity to provide comprehensive assessment reports).

  6. Demonstrated ability to achieve set targets, seek continuous improvement and oversee the quality of documentation, meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

  7. Understanding of business processes, including financial requirements and strategic direction.

  8. Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work independently, as well as working cohesively as part of a team.

  9. Willingness to work within a Christian Ethos.

  10. Current Driver’s License and vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance available for use where required.
