Program and Position Overview

 

William Campbell Foundation (WCF) is a not for profit Christian organisation that provides a range of services, including permanency support programs for children and young people. Additionally, WCF delivers therapeutic services to children, young people, individuals and families.

 

WCF is committed to child safe practices and permanency outcomes for children and young people in care to provide a positive, safe and healing experience that addresses trauma, attachment, self-regulation, culture and community needs.

The aim of William Campbell Foundation's Supported Independent Living Program is to achieve change, safety and protection for Young People through improving cultural, social, emotional, health and educational outcomes, and preparing them for independent living.

This unique Casework position is responsible for working directly with a diverse range of young people in a Supported Independent Living house in Nowra, assessing and managing their complex and individual needs using a therapeutic and trauma informed approach.

Our Supported Independent Living Caseworker will also provide ongoing support to the House Parents, to ensure that the residing young people are comprehensively supported in ways consistent with the values of William Campbell Foundation.

Key Position Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma Level Qualifications in a relevant field (for example: Community Services, Youth Work) and preferable experience working with youth in a residential or similar service.

  • An understanding of the importance of identifying and improving outcomes for young people, in preparation for independent living.

  • The ability to work with youth using a strength-based approach, providing quality and responsive services to young people.

  • Self motivation and high level communication skills, both verbal and written, and high level organisational skills - to meet the administrative needs of the position.

  • Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Check and a current unrestricted drivers licence.

  • Access to two referees from current or previous Managers (within the last 2 - 5 years)
