Therapeutic Foster Carer

Everyday you have the opportunity to make a positive difference for children and young people.

About WCF

William Campbell Foundation (WCF) is a not for profit Christian organisation that provides a range of services, including permanency support programs for children and young people. Additionally, WCF delivers therapeutic services to children, young people, individuals and families.

WCF is committed to child safe practices and permanency outcomes for children and young people in care to provide a positive, safe and healing experience that addresses trauma, attachment, self-regulation, culture and community needs.

About the Role

William Campbell Foundation are looking for experienced Therapeutic Foster Carers who can provide a safe and loving environment for an 11-year-old girl. We are looking for carers who understand spectrum disorders, as well as ADHD, ODD and PTSD. It is important that the carers can support and manage complex behaviours and have the skills to encourage emotional regulation.

This child's favourite activities include drawing, roller skating and playing at the park. She also loves to listen and sing to music. She is currently transitioning back to school where she will attend 3 days a week for 2- 3 hours a day, and WCF are therefore seeking carers who are home during the day.

The carer will:

  • Have an interest or understanding of trauma and the effects this can have on development.

  • Have an adult that is home during the day.

  • Preferably have no other children to allow this young person to have plenty of 1:1 love, support and care

  • Be confident in implementing positive behaviour support strategies, provided by the agency.

  • Be patient, calm and show empathy.

  • Preferably have experience in the Community Services Sector

WCF will provide ongoing training, 24/7 on-call support, regular caseworker visits and clinical contact and support. You will also receive an attractive tax-free remuneration package, to assist with the everyday expense of raising a child.
