Program and Position Overview

William Campbell Foundation (WCF) is a not for profit Christian organisation that provides a range of services, including permanency support programs for children and young people. Additionally, WCF delivers therapeutic services to children, young people, individuals and families.

 

WCF is committed to child safe practices and permanency outcomes for children and young people in care to provide a positive, safe and healing experience that addresses trauma, attachment, self-regulation, culture and community needs.

Family Preservation is a wrap-around service that provides support to children and young people at-risk of entering out-of-home care, and their families, with the aim of enabling them to remain safely in their home, and prevent them from entering OOHC.

​

Casework Practitioners are responsible for providing casework to children and young people and their families, and working collaboratively to reduce safety risks, build capacity, and support children and young people to remain safely at home. 

 

Key Requirements

• Essential: Diploma Level Qualifications in a relevant field (for example: Community Services, Youth Work) and at least 2 years experience working with children and young people.

• Knowledge and understanding of issues arising for children, young people and families when children and young people are at risk of being placed in out of home care. 

• Expertise in delivering a wide range of therapeutic and trauma-informed interventions tailored to the individual needs of families, to build parenting capacity, promote safety and support child development.

• Self motivation and high level communication skills, both verbal and written. 

• High level organisational skills and attention to detail to meet the administrative needs of the position.

• Working knowledge of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and the role of early intervention and family preservation within the Permanency Support Program.

• Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Check, current unrestricted Drivers Licence and access to two referees from current or previous Managers (within the last 2 - 5 years)
